Why I started StormReadyNYC

My name is Will Duhl, and I am a high school student in Brooklyn, NY. Having seen the impact of extreme weather firsthand in my neighborhood, I decided to focus on researching and raising awareness of the threat of severe climate events on our local community.

I currently perform environmental research under the guidance of Dr. Benjamin Cook at Columbia University's Climate School, investigating the causes of urban flooding and other extreme weather events. I also volunteer with the Brooklyn chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL), where I work to promote solutions to climate change.

I hope that this website can serve as a resource to highlight the impact of severe flooding on NYC, share interviews with key environmental experts and advocacy groups, and help New Yorkers to take action to confront the growing threat.
