MY STORY
Why I started StormReadyNYC
My name is Will Duhl, and I am a high school student in Brooklyn, NY. Having seen the impact of extreme weather firsthand in my neighborhood, I decided to focus on researching and raising awareness of the threat of severe climate events on our local community.
I currently intern under Dr. Benjamin Cook at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, where I investigate the causes of extreme urban flooding. I also volunteer with the Brooklyn chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) where I work to promote solutions to climate change.
I hope that this website can serve as a resource to highlight the impact of severe flooding on NYC, share interviews with key environmental experts and advocacy groups, and help New Yorkers figure out how to take action to confront the growing threat.
Research Paper

Shows how extreme rainfall indicators predict severe urban flooding in dense cities.
